Tangerine Tango

Red-orange, blood orange, tangerine. No matter what you call it, it's huge this spring. And I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon, especially considering it's Pantone's color of 2012. This of course means more shopping! Yay!

Wedding Planning: part 3

While I've pumped the breaks on the wedding plans, I haven't been able to get one thing off of my mind: the dress. duh. But which one?!

I could go with a tulle or lace short number.

...a long skirt + a cute tee, or a simple dress with a statement neckline

...or something in black or sparkly gold.


How can a girl decide??
I don't know what I'm going to wear tomorrow, let alone one year from now! Help!

My Friday.

For the first time in a long time, I feel like it's really Friday. Like I accomplished a lot this week and I earned a Friday. I think I'll use this weekend to get some more work done, maybe even be proactive and get some of next week's tasks accomplished. Or, maybe I'll take a break :)

Dressing Dilemma

I have another work party coming up and all of the ladies are wearing shades of red. The dress I'm rocking is a sweater dress in a bright red-orange shade. The problem? JEWELRY. I've never been one for accessorizing. At least not well. So, I really need your help! I've gathered some options that I think will make a statement, but could easily fit into my wardrobe after the party is over. Thoughts??

If not, you should! It's this inspiring book about a girl on a mission to find new friends at age 27. And I can relate. It seems like making new friends would be so easy — wasn't it simple back when we all did it in grade school, or even college? — but it's not. And I have friends. Some really great ones, in fact. But only a few and they're all spread out. A couple in the city, a few in the suburbs and a bunch all over the midwest. Who doesn't want a few good buddies to go to brunch with on Sunday or start a book club with once a month?

So, I'm taking tips straight from the book and I'm reaching out. Instead of Married White Female seeking Best Friend Forever, I'm reaching out to you guys as Engaged White Blogger seeking Blog Friends Forever :)

Real-life Monday

Today has been a Monday. Like a real-life, I-reset-my-alarm-twice-because-I-couldn't-get-out-of-bed-this-morning Mondays. But I also started reading a book about a woman on a mission to become more confident and outgoing, which is really inspiring. So now I'm fighting a laziness that seems to be larger than myself and an inspirational buzz that I'm not sure what to do about. I guess for now I'll just cozy up to my new book and let the inspiration build.

I came across Adele's blog, Dellie, via Twitter and I was hooked immediately once I saw the header. I love the simple design. The mix of handdrawn and Gotham fonts. The grey and white and pops of orange here and there. Well, obviously everything!

And these cute little design elements on her blog are great too!
